Thanks for the stay. The community building is a really cool place to hang out with other campers, cook, read or have a nice fire in the cooler season. It is really nicely built! I also enjoyed the open air shower 🙂

Tom’s place is a real gem. Great location and a lovely set up. The shower and flush toilet were much appreciated and the community building a great place to plan for local excursions. Hope to return end explore more of the area.

Valhalla Pines was the perfect place to stay for a relaxed camping experience in the middle of the West Kootenays. Was close to everywhere we wanted to explore and more. Tom is a super friendly guy and has transformed part of his property into a traveler’s paradise. Comes equipped with a communal kitchen with hot running water for dishes and outdoor shower (my fav) and a flushing toilet (luxurious!). Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to anyone looking to experience the area 🙂

This is a great place to stay and for this reason I had extended my time here. Tom is the perfect host, easy going, friendly, and just an all round good dude. His house is an incredible example of an A-frame cabin and Tom is doing an impressive job creating his campground. I stayed in the campground on a tent site amongst tall old pines. Tom has a nice forested lot which lets in lots of light. The community building there is a beautiful timber frame building with cedar siding and is such a nice amenity when staying in a tent. You’ll find cooking facilities, a fridge, wifi, outdoor flush toilet, plus a shower there. Nothing beats showering amongst the pines.

Valhalla Pines – private room queen bed & WIFI
Tom’s place was lovely. The location felt remote but was not hard to find, which was perfect for us. About 30 min drive to Nelson. Near the Slocan River which was really ideal for water activities like floating. Tom was very helpful giving guides and tips. We’re hoping to be back in the future.
